ABOUT US
OUR MISSION
It is our goal and mission to equip God's people to do His work and build the church, which is the body of Christ. We are focused on making disciples of all who believe, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Eph. 4:12 & Mat. 28:19)
WHAT WE DO
The days may come and the hours will pass, but only what we do for Christ will last. Therefore, we delight ourselves in the Word of God and aim not just to listen to it but to be doers of it.
(Jam. 1:22)
OUR COMMUNITY
As the good samaritan in Luke 10, we are a family that loves others as ourselves. We show compassion to the lost, seeking to be the merciful neighbor Jesus desires us to be. We are a multi-cultural church family and we welcome you to come and join us soon!
(Luke 10:27-28)
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.

We believe that there is only One God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return.

We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.

We believe that inner restoration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely possible and essential for personal salvation.

We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.

We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to all believers who, by faith and prayer, ask God for it.

We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world.
FOUNDER & LEAD PASTOR
Bishop Henry Mitchell, with the union of his wife First Lady Lola Mitchell, founded the Good Samaritan Church (GSC) of San Diego on May 2, 1971. Coming from humble beginnings, Pastor Mitchell was willing to answer the call of God on his life even if it meant gathering just a few people to worship in a small living room.

With the favor of God, GSC grew from a living room to a recreational center gymnasium, and into a beautiful custom-built church that has touched hundreds of lives in over 49 years of ministry. With a servant's heart and fire for the Word of God, Pastor Mitchell is sure to bring a word that will draw your heart deeper into the fullness of God.

In addition to being an exemplary leader, he is an honorable husband to his wife of over 64 years and together they have two sons, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
